HTC to launch One X+ in India before Diwali: Report

HTC is reportedly going to launch the One X+ smartphone in the country before the festival of Diwali. The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and comes with an improved Sense 4+ on-board.

“We are going to launch One X+ in next few weeks in India before this Diwali,” HTC India Country Head Faisal Siddiqui told MyMobile.

There is no word on the pricing, but considering the current market price of a 32GB HTC One X, we are expecting One X+ to be priced over INR 35,000.

HTC One X+ comes with a 1.7GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 64GB of internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera and 2100 mAh battery. There is also a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 720p display and Beats Audio integration.

One X+ improves on the internal storage, battery and processor of One X, which recently started getting Jelly Bean update in certain Asian countries.

HTC One X+ isn’t the only Android gadget landing in the India before Diwali, Samsung has also promised to release its first Android camera – Galaxy Camera in the country before Diwali.

Huawei announces Honor 2 with quad-core processor, 4.5-inch IPS HD display

Huawei has announced the launch of the successor to Huawei Honor in the form of Honor II smartphone. Priced at 1,888 Yuan (INR 16,400), the Honor 2 will go on sale starting November 4 in China.

The smartphone features 4.5-inch IPS 1280x720p display, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage.

Just 10.5mm thick, Honor 2 comes with an 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, Android 4.0 and 2230 mAh battery.

Huawei Honor 2 improves in a lot of aspects over the original, which featured Android 2.3.5, 1900mAh battery, 1.4 GHz processor, 4.0-inch FWVGA capacitive display, 8MP camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 512M RAM and 4GB internal storage.

There is no word on the launch of Honor 2 in other countries include India. The original Huawei Honor currently retails in India for INR 18,500

Comparing : Micromax A110 vs Micromax 100 vs Micromax A101

Micromax has entered in the budget phablet market in a big way recently. Company first launched A110 Superfone Canvas and did not long to replace it with an improved Superfone Canvas 2 A110.

Company has also planning to launch A101 in the country, with an even bigger 5.2-inch display.

Powered by dual-core processor and Android 4.0, all three smartphone look great on paper, and are great media consumption devices.

Micromax isn’t alone in the budget phablet market; companies like S Mobility and iBall have also released their own 5-inch devices like iBall Andi 5C and Spice Stellar Horizon.

One of Andy's great features is its design to work with Bluetooth headsets (A2DP only, must pair with at least one device). Oppo Find 5 coming to China soon, may arrive in November!

HTC has finally confirmed all our previous speculation with the announcement of the J Butterfly in Japan. This brings us a true HD 5-inch smartphone, but it is far from the only one in the works. HTC’s new phablet may have received its big unveiling earlier today, but the Oppo Find 5 is just around the corner. 

The Find 5 is a rather impressive looking smartphone. The device features a 5-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor and 2GB of RAM. Other specs include a 12MP rear camera, a 2,500mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. 

For the moment it is unclear whether or not the Oppo Find 5 will make its way outside of China. If the handset does, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and HTC J Butterfly may have some extra competition in the high-end phablet market.

While we don’t have an official release date targeted for the Find 5, several Chinese sites claim it will be released in November. If this proves true, the Find 5 will arrive in China about a month earlier than the HTC J Butterfly’s launch in Japan. Pricing for the new Oppo smartphone is said to start at 2,998 CNY (roughly $480) for the 16GB model. This certainly isn’t cheap, but you get a whole lot of phone for the money. a

What to do when your phone gets wet?

1. First off, get the phone out from its baptizing ceremony as soon as possible, and immediately take out the battery to prevent short-circuiting, as well as your SIM card, if any, to avoid losing your contacts - the longer it stays, the more eventual damage it will get.

2. Check your water damage sensor for change of color - it is a white dot or square near

the battery compartment in the corner - if it has changed color towards red, then your water damage has already voided your warranty and often your insurance, so whatever you do to resuscitate the phone from there is your responsibility.

3. Pray it is not saltwater, but the drinkable type, as salt crust can form on the delicate innards of the device. If it is saltwater, gently rinse with fresh after you've taken out the battery and SIM, and before the drying procedure has begun.

4. Wipe the phone everywhere with a cloth or a paper towel, trying not to move or shake it too much, as water might be spreading within the innards.

5. Try and "vacuum" around the phone all around to suck out the excessive moisture for a few minutes, then leave it in warm air circulation for a few hours, if possible.

6. Finally, put the phone in a jar or a pouch full of raw rice for the remainder of the at least 24 hours during which the handset can't be switched on, as rice is very water-absorbent and will help save your handset.

7. Turn the handset on after that twenty-four hour period, and hope it will power up and there will be no residual damage from corrosion or short-circuiting. If it works on a charger, but not on a battery, then feel free to swap the fried juicer.
